WHO: Los Angeles City Councilmember Gilbert Cedillo, 1st District LAPD Deputy Chief Robert Arcos, Operations-Central Bureau LAPD Captain III Marc Reina, Commanding Officer, Central Area LAPD Captain I Scott Harrelson, Commanding Officer, Central Patrol Division LAPD Detective, Sergio Carrero Ortiz, Central Homicide

WHY: On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, around 6:55 pm, a 23-year-old male Hispanic was shot in Elysian Park, he later died at a local hospital.

LAPD Central Division Homicide Detectives, with the assistance of the joint LAPD FBI Task Force, and Metropolitan Division developed leads, which led to the arrest of the shooter, as well as three others involved in the drug trade.

Following three search warrants, a significant cache of weapons, including assault rifles, and narcotics were recovered. Information related to the case will be shared at the news conference.
