" Newton Detectives Investigate Murder on East 40th Street"
 
Los Angeles: On Saturday, September 22, 2001 at 12:45 P.M., Luis Manuel Zaragoza, a 22-year-old male, was in an alley in the 1600 block of E. 40th Place with Roberto Gutierrez. They were involved in a verbal argument when Gutierrez armed himself with a semi-automatic pistol and shot the victim multiple times. The suspect walked out of the alley, got in a 1997 Ford Explorer, California. License # 3WIY427 and fled south on Long Beach Avenue.
The investigation revealed that the victim and suspect knew each other. The suspect had threatened to kill the victim in the past.
The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. If observed, do not approach, notify police immediately.
