Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Force Investigation Division is investigating a Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge that occurred outside city limits.

On December 3, 2025, at approximately 9:05 a.m., an off-duty Police Officer assigned to Olympic Division, was inside of his residence outside of city limits. The officer began to unload his duty weapon in preparation to clean it, when a Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge occurred. The officer was alone at the time of the incident and was not injured.

No community members were injured as a result of this incident.

Force Investigation Division (FID) personnel responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
