Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge (NTUD) NRF009-24bb

On March 4, 2024, at around 2 p.m., an off-duty police officer assigned to Southwest Division had a Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge (NTUD) while inside his residence outside of the city.

The officer was preparing to clean his personally owned Department-approved pistol. While in the process, he inadvertently discharged one round, striking a bedroom wall. The round struck a water pipe and was retained within the wall. No one was injured during the incident.

Force Investigation Division (FID) detectives responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
