Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge (NTUD) – NRF024-23dm

On June 14, 2023, around 2:55 p.m., an on-duty police officer assigned to Metropolitan Division was in the women’s restroom at Davis Training Facility when a Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge (NTUD) occurred. The officer was standing in the restroom when she inadvertently discharged one round from her duty handgun, striking a ceramic tile at the base of the bathroom wall. The round did not penetrate the wall.

No other officers or employees were in the bathroom when the NTUD occurred. No one was injured during the incident.

Force Investigation Division (FID) detectives responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
