Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge (NTUD) NRF031-25bb

On July 3, 2025, at around 11:30 a.m., an off-duty Police Officer assigned to Central Division, was inside a bedroom of their residence, located outside of the City of Los Angeles. The Officer was manipulating the Red Dot Optic on their personally owned firearm when a Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge occurred. The bullet struck the interior bedroom window, exited and impacted a concrete pillar outside of the bedroom.

There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

Force Investigation Division (FID) investigators responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
