WHY:
To inform the community about the “North Hollywood New Horizons Task Force”, a proactive approach to preventing violent crime in North Hollywood and the greater San Fernando Valley area.

Captain Justin Eisenberg, the commanding officer of North Hollywood Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, will be advising the community about the recent North Hollywood New Horizons Task Force.  The reason for this is to raise awareness within the community about ongoing law enforcement efforts, and to try to bring together the residents who are plagued by gang activity and violent crime on a daily basis.

There will be information regarding the recent success of the Task Force, including warrant service, and parole and probation compliance checks, on 37 locations.  Each location was the known domicile of a wanted individual, a career criminal, or a violent felon.  This resulted in eight arrests, and the recovery of 31 firearms, including a number of exotic weapons.  These weapons will be on display during the press conference.
