Why:
Councilmember LaBonge and Chief Bratton will lead a ceremony to honor LAPD Officer Landon Dorris, who was killed four months ago while investigating an early morning traffic collision at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Hyperion Avenue.
Dorris was 31 years old and had served with the LAPD for 3 ½ years. Prior to that, he had served six years as a California Highway Patrol officer. He is survived by his wife and two children as well as his mother and two sisters.
The ceremony will include the planning of a Canary Island pine in Officer Dorris’ name and a sign will also be dedicated near the location of the fatal accident.
