WHY: To help celebrate the holiday season, the Los Angeles Police Department has partnered with various donors and supporters to give back to the community they serve. The 4th Annual “Operation Shoes from Santa” will feature shoes that will be distributed to pre-designated children from schools within the Olympic Area community. Officers from Olympic Area will also transform the police station into a winter wonderland with real snow on the ground for children to play in. During the Holiday Shoe event, the media will have the opportunity to meet the families who are receiving these gifts and share their personal stories.
