One Juvenile Arrested in Connection to Korea Town Double Murder NR15188lp

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department in conjunction with the FBI Taskforce arrested a juvenile involved in the murder of brothers Eleazar Lico 20 years-old, and Aurelio Lico 24 years-old, in Korea Town.

On Monday, June 1, 2015, around 2:25 p.m., a dispute between two groups resulted in a fight in the 3000 block of West Leeward Avenue. The fight escalated and the suspects group, possible gang members, armed themselves with a tire iron and a hand gun. The two victims tried to get away and ran in opposite directions on Leeward Avenue. Eleazar Lico ran westbound toward Vermont Avenue and collapsed after he was shot and hit with a tire iron by one of the suspects. Aurelio Lico ran eastbound toward Westmoreland Avenue when he was shot in the head.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other died from his injuries while being transported to the hospital.

On June 2, 2015, around 2:30 p.m. the LAPD/FBI Taskforce arrested a 16 year-old male Hispanic at his residence in Hollywood in connection with this double murder. The circumstances and motive for this homicide are still under investigation.
