"One Victim Died, Two Other Victims Not Hurt"

Los Angeles – On Saturday, June 17, 2000, at approximately 11:40 pm, three victims were standing in front of the apartment complex located at 8507 South Main Street, in Los Angeles, when three unidentified suspects approached the group from behind and fired multiple gunshots at them. After the shooting, the suspects then fled the scene on foot.

One of the victims, Maximo Marias, 20 years old, sustained multiple gunshots to his upper torso and legs. Victim Marias was treated at scene by Los Angeles Fire Department Emergency Personnel. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital where his condition worsened and he died as a result of his injuries. The other two victims were not injured.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
