There is no specific evidence indicating that the suspects involved in this crime are students of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Commercial Crimes Division Organized Retail Crimes Task Force (ORCTF) is investigating a series of “flash robberies” at local retail stores involving 10-20 suspects.

The suspects began targeting local retail stores on March 3, 2024. The targeted stores are within a few miles of each other in the LAPD Hollenbeck and Newton divisions. The crew is composed of 10 to 20 suspects who enter the stores in the evening hours wearing hooded sweatshirts and face coverings. The suspects rapidly enter the locations, remove clothing and other merchandise, and flee without paying for the merchandise. In each incident the suspects have been observed fleeing on bicycles. The suspects have used force and displayed a lack of regard for the safety of witnesses and victims.

The LAPD ORCTF would like assistance from the public to identify these suspects. The suspects are described as male Hispanics, five to six feet tall, 120 to 250 pounds, and appear to be between the ages of 15-25 years old. It is likely that the suspects attend the Los Angeles Unified School District near the targeted stores.

Anyone with information regarding these types of incidents is urged to contact ORC@lapd.online. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247). Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477) or go directly to www.lacrimestoppers.org. Lastly, tipsters may also download the “P3 Tips” mobile application and select the L. A. Regional Crime Stoppers as their local program.
