"Pacific Detectives Investigate Homicide in Venice"
 
Venice: On Sunday, September 16, 2001, at approximately 1:20 A.M., Pacific patrol officers responded to a "Shots Fired" radio call at 7th Avenue and Indiana Avenue. Upon arrival officers found the victim, later identified as 30 year old Rodolfo Becerra, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Mr. Becerra dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed the victim had been walking in the area of 7th Avenue and Indiana Avenue when an unknown suspect approached and confronted him. The suspect fired several rounds, striking the victim numerous times. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
The motive for this crime is possibly gang related.
The suspect and the weapon used are outstanding.
