Passenger Dies, Driver Arrested for Manslaughter

Los Angeles – In the early morning hours of May 11, 2000, Michael Anthony Anderson, 42 years old and a resident of Los Angeles, was driving his 1988 Oldsmobile eastbound #2 lane on Rodeo Road near Van Ness Avenue. The front of his vehicle struck the south curb and Anderson lost control of his car running off the roadway and into the side of a business building that was on the north side of the street.

As a result of the collision, Mark Anthony White, 50 years old, the right front passenger in Anderson’s vehicle, was killed.

Further investigation by South Traffic Division Officers revealed that Anderson was under the influence of an intoxicant at the time of the collision. He was arrested for Felony Vehicular Manslaughter and booked at the Jail Ward, 13th Floor, USC Medical Center.
