Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle

On Monday, April 26, 1999 at 8:10 p.m., the victim was crossing Saticoy Street in front of his residence outside the unmarked crosswalk at Vassar Avenue. A 1970 full sized Ford pick-up truck traveling eastbound on Saticoy Street, driven by Donald J. Wyman, a 36 year old resident of Canoga Park, collided with the victim. After initially stopping and approaching the victim, Wyman fled the location. The victim, a 68 year old male, resident of Canoga Park, was transported to Northridge Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by Dr. Sauk.

Approximately three (3) hours later, Wyman returned to the location with his wife who was not with him at the time of the accident. After being interviewed by the investigators, Wyman was arrested for Felony Hit and Run.
