Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle

On Wednesday, September 29, 1999, at approximately 11:35 p.m. a traffic collision occurred on Olympic Boulevard just west of Figueroa. William S. Clements, a 46-year-old Hollywood resident was driving his 1988 white Honda Civic westbound Olympic Boulevard in the number 2 lane when he collided with an unidentified male pedestrian who was crossing northbound across Olympic Boulevard outside of the crosswalk. The pedestrian is described as a male Hispanic with dark eyes, brown curly hair, 5’0" tall, 140 pounds, 25-30 years of age, wearing dark denims pants, burgundy ankle high cowboy boots, a print shirt and a white cowboy hat. The victim sustained head injuries, and multiple abrasions about his body. He was pronounced dead at scene. It is unknown at this time if charges will be filed against the driver, who was not under the influence at the time of the collision. This investigation is ongoing.
