Los Angeles – On October 9, 2000 at approximately 9:20 a.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Ardmore Avenue. Ms. Kwan Soon Kim, a 70-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was walking northbound on Ardmore Avenue when she was struck by a westbound 1988 Toyota Camry driven by a male, also a resident of Los Angeles. The impact, according to witnesses, was at a slow speed causing Ms. Kim to roll over the front of the car and impact the roadway. She sustained major head trauma and was treated at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics and transported to Cedar Sinai Hospital where she failed to respond to treatment. Dr. Redd pronounced her dead at 12:00 p.m.

As a result of the preliminary investigation, including the statements of witnesses, the driver was interviewed and released pending a complete investigation.
