UPDATE On October 6, 2015, the Los Angeles Police Department, Valley Traffic Division, made an arrest in conjunction with a felony hit-and-run traffic collision investigation that occurred on October 4, 2015.

LAPD Valley Traffic Division Detectives arrested Lerone Natalia Herscu, an 18-year old resident of Sherman Oaks. Ms. Herscu was arrested for 20001(a) VC – Felony Hit-and-Run and is currently being held on $50,000 bail. LAPD Valley Traffic Detectives are looking for additional witnesses who may have seen this collision or have knowledge of this incident.

Sherman Oaks: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification of the suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision that killed a woman.

On Sunday, October 4, 2015, at about 2:20 a.m., a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision occurred on Moorpark Street between Stern Avenue and Matilija Avenue. An unidentified nineteen year old female, residing in the community of North Hills, was crossing Moorpark Street, midblock southbound when a vehicle, travelling eastbound on Moorpark Street, collided with her. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled westbound on Moorpark Street. It is anticipated that there will be damage to the front of the hit and run vehicle.

The victim died from the injuries she received at scene. Her identity will be released after notification of next of kin.
