Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Hit and Run
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department, Valley Traffic Detectives (VTD) are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that left a pedestrian dead.
On May 05, 2026, around 1:50 a.m., a gray, newer model BMW, sedan was traveling westbound on Magnolia Boulevard just west of Tujunga Avenue when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk. The hit and run vehicle possibly a Series 5 BMW continued westbound Magnolia Blvd without stopping, identifying self, or rendering aid as required by law.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and provided immediate medical attention. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at scene. He was a male, white, approximately 30-35 years old. The identity of the pedestrian is pending until next of kin is notified.
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves. Pedestrians are also reminded to cross in a safe manner and use crosswalks when possible.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
