Pedestrian Struck and Killed, Driver Flees NR23789ne/rc

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division detectives are investigating the circumstances of a traffic collision resulting in a fatality.

On Sunday, December 17, 2023, around 11:50 p.m., a fatal traffic crash occurred on Washington Boulevard and Crenshaw Boulevard. A silver Subaru Impreza was traveling west on Washington Boulevard and crashed with a pedestrian crossing Crenshaw Boulevard. The impact between the Subaru and the pedestrian caused the pedestrian to travel west and collide with the roadway.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the Subaru failed to remain at scene, identify themselves, or render aid to the pedestrian as required by law.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and next of kin have not been notified.
