Pedestrian Struck by Amtrak Surfliner, Detective Search for Witnesses NR11213SF

Los Angeles: On Saturday, May 7th, at around 9:05 p.m., a pedestrian walking along the train tracks near the intersection of Winnetka Avenue and Nordhoff Street was struck by an Amtrak Surfliner that was traveling south from the City of Goleta to Los Angeles.  

Christopher Vazquez, a 27-year-old resident from Sun Valley, was pronounced dead at scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.  

Detectives from Valley Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help and are searching for possible witnesses to the collision.
