Physical Altercation Results In Death

Los Angeles – On Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at approximately 5:45 am, Central Area uniformed officers responded to 600 West General Thaddeus Kosciusko Way to investigate a possible murder. Upon arrival, the officers discovered a male Black, approximately 60 years of age, with blunt force trauma wounds to the head. Los Angeles Paramedics responded and pronounced death at 5:52 am.
Officers interviewed a witness who had observed a physical altercation between the victim and a male suspect at 3:45 am in the parking lot on the Northeast corner of Hope Street and General Thaddeus Kosciusko Way.
Identity of the victim is not being provided pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroners Office.
