Police in Search of Attempt Rapist in Pacific Area

On Wednesday, October 20, 1999, at approximately 2:40 A.M., Pacific Area uniformed patrol officers responded to an "Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Just Occurred" radio call at a residence in the 3600 block of McLaughlin Avenue in Pacific Area.

The victim was asleep in her residence when the suspect entered the location through an open window. The suspect then attempted to rape the victim and threatened to kill her. The victim fought with the suspect and bit him on his hand. The suspect then exited the residence through the open window. The victim was unable to provide a description of the suspect because it was dark inside her residence. The victim was not injured.

Pacific Area Detectives, Sexual Crimes Unit, are investigating this incident along with several other incidents that occurred recently in the same area.
