"Police to Conduct Zero-Tolerance Task Force in Devonshire Area"

Los Angeles: On Thursday, August 8, 2002, dozens of Los Angeles Police Department officers from Devonshire Area, Valley Traffic Division, and Valley Bureau Headquarters will focus on violent crime and community quality of life issues in an effort to reduce crime in Devonshire Area.
The focus area will be the area bordered by Nordhoff Street on the north, Roscoe Boulevard on the south, Lindley Avenue on the east and Topanga Canyon Boulevard on the west with particular emphasis on the Parthenia corridor.
Operations will commence at 9:00 a.m. and will continue past midnight. There will be zero tolerance for traffic violations and criminal acts in the affected area.
Recent past task forces in other parts of the Valley have resulted in hundreds of traffic citations, vehicle impounds, and dozens of arrests.
Other similar task forces to combat violent crime and improve the quality of life will be conducted in other parts of the Valley throughout the summer.
