Public’s Assistance Needed in Boyle Heights Murder

Los Angeles: On November 24, 2002, at approximately 7:35 p.m., the victim, Manuel Palacios, was shot and killed as he and his family removed groceries from the trunk of their vehicle in front of 1365 South Dacotah Street. The investigation revealed that the shooter mistook Mr. Palacios for a rival gang member. Detectives are focusing their investigation on a gang member from a local street gang.
On December 16, 2002, at 4:30 p.m., Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives along with Councilman Nick Pacheco will conduct a press conference at the original crime scene. A $25,000.00 reward for the arrest and conviction of the suspect will be offered during the press conference.
