Los Angeles: Recently, we have asked the Media and the publics assistance in identifying suspects that were involved in murders within Operations South Bureau.
On Friday, March 28, 2003, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Mr. Devron LeVell Lewis, described as a male, Black, 28 years old, was driving his 1992 Chevrolet, Caprice, 4 door, Gold over Red vehicle eastbound on Jefferson Boulevard approaching Sycamore Avenue. The suspect a male, Hispanic, 5’8", 160 lbs, 18-22 years of age was standing near the northeast corner of Jefferson Boulevard and Sycamore Avenue. He fired numerous times at Mr. Lewis fatally wounding him. Mr. Lewis collided into a building located at Orange Drive and Jefferson Boulevard. He was transported by Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Detectives learned that Mr. Lewis had completed his shift at the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) where he was employed as a mechanic since 1998 and was enroute to his residence.
On December 11, 2003, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Southeast Officers responded to a shots fired radio call at the 700 Block of East 87th Place. Officers observed three male, Hispanics, in their 20’s, in a white Chevrolet pick up truck, suffering from gunshot wounds. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene and one was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
