Los Angeles:  On March 1, 2022, the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners approved an update to the Los Angeles Police Department’s policy on pretextual stops. In advance of the March 1st Board of Police Commissioners meeting, the Board was provided data related to stops conducted by LAPD personnel. The data provided was taken from the collection of data the LAPD provides to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) in compliance with the Racial and Identity Profiling Act of 2015 (RIPA).
