Rampart: On Sunday, September 9, 2001, at approximately 1:45 A.M., Rampart Patrol Officers responded to a radio call, "meet the Fire Department at Court Street and Union Avenue". Upon arrival officers found the victim down on the sidewalk. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his upper torso and was pronounced dead by Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics.
The investigation revealed that witnesses observed the victim on the sidewalk and stopped to render aid. Witnesses then contacted the Fire Department Paramedics.
The victim has been identified as Henry Geovani Guevara, 23 years of age.
The motive for the shooting is unknown. The suspect, or suspects, and weapon are outstanding.
