Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Operation Central Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspect(s) responsible for the death of a food delivery driver in the Cypress Park area.

On December 15, 2020, around 10:50 p.m., officers responded to Avenue 26 and Figueroa Blvd for a shooting victim. When officers arrived, they found the victim inside his vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck. The investigation revealed the victim had dropped off a delivery in the 1400 block of Randall Ct around 10:15 pm. As the victim was driving back down the hill he was shot by unknown suspect(s). The victim was able to drive himself to the area of Avenue 26 and Figueroa Blvd where he waited for police and paramedics.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local area hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries three days later. The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Roderick Thomas. Roderick is survived by his common law wife of 14 years, 2 sons, his brother, and sister.
