Los Angeles: On March 23, 2002, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Rampart Area officers responded to a Traffic Investigation at the 400 block of N. New Hampshire Avenue. Prior to the officers arrival, Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics arrived and observed 23 year-old, Los Angeles resident, Maynor Sosa unconscious and slumped over his vehicle steering wheel.
The investigation revealed that the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to his back. It has not been determined where the actual shooting took place. Although witnesses at the scene heard the traffic collision, no gunshots were heard. LAPD Rampart Area Homicide Detectives have not determined a motive.
Photos of victim Maynor Sosa will be available, and Sosa family members will also be present at the press conference.
The City Council has approved a $25,000.00 reward for anyone who has information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Maynor Sosa.
