Rewards Totaling $50K Offered to Help Solve a Homicide Case

WHY:
To encourage members of the community who may have information about the murder to come forward and to give detectives a chance to provide more details.  A reward of $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible in this homicide case:

•    July 6, 2008, at around 8:40 p.m.  – Victim Antonio Ortega Jr. was murdered as he was sitting in the front seat of his vehicle parked in front of the 1400 block of North Watson Avenue in Wilmington.  An unknown suspect walked up and fired a handgun multiple times striking the victim.  Mr. Ortega exited his vehicle and collapsed on the sidewalk.

In the above case, the detectives have few leads and are asking for the public’s help to solve this crime.
