Los Angeles: On October 4, 2003 at 9:30 a.m., North Hollywood Patrol Officers responded the report of a "Man Assaulting a Woman" at 7701 Laurel Canyon Boulevard. Upon the officers arrival, two victims were found from stab wounds in the upper torsos. The victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The female victim, 42 year old Dora Amaya, died as a result of her injuries. The male victim, a 24 year-old son of Dora Amaya, was admitted and is listed in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation revealed that two suspects entered the victim’s apartment intending to rob them. In the process the victims were stabbed. The suspects were seen leaving the location in a light color four door vehicle, possibly a Saturn. Further investigation led the identity of both suspects.
At 9:00 p.m. on October 4, 2003, both suspects were taken into custody at a residence in the city of Lancaster. 24 year old Philip Lozano, a transient, and 23 year old Glenn Terrell, a resident of the Lancaster have been booked for murder.
