Robbery Suspect Caught on Video NR19241ml

West Los Angeles: The Los
Angeles Police Department Detectives from West Los Angeles Area are
seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a Robbery
suspect.

On September 5, 2019, at approximately 7:45pm, a suspect walked
into a business at the 11300 block of West Pico Boulevard. The
security guards immediately recognized the suspect from prior
encounters. The suspect took a shopping cart and walked inside the
business.

While inside the business the suspect selected several items, and
placed them in the shopping cart. The suspect then walked towards
the cellular phone counter and told the employee he wanted to
purchase two cell phones. The employee placed the cell phones on
the counter and that is when the suspect grabbed the two cell
phones, placed them inside of a brown satchel bag, and ran toward
the exit.

An employee attempted to stop the suspect prior to him exiting the
store. As the suspect and the employee struggled over the suspect’s
brown satchel bag which contained the merchandise, the employee was
pulled outside of the store where they continued to struggle over
the bag.

The suspect then brandished a knife, and was grabbed a pepper spray
from his brown satchel bag and point it at the employee, and the
employee retreated inside of the store.

The suspect fled on foot westbound through the parking lot and
continued north onto Corinth Avenue out of the view of the security
cameras.

The suspect is described as a male, Black, 25-35 years old, black
braided hair, standing at approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall,
weighing 180lbs. He was wearing a white short-sleeve button down
shirt, black belt with multiple large holes, black pants, black
shoes entered the store carrying a large brown satchel bag strapped
over his left shoulder.
