Robbery Suspects Shoot at Police

Los Angeles: Two suspects were arrested after exchange of gunfire with police late Monday night.

On June 11, 2007, at about 9:30 PM, 77th Street Patrol Division Police Officer Darryl McGreggor, 38, 18 years with the Department and Police Officer Christopher McPheeters, 26, 5 years with the Department responded to a "Robbery Suspects There Now" call at 621 West 77th Street.

They had received information that the suspects were armed and had taken the victim’s vehicle, a 1998 Black Infiniti, with custom rims. While searching the area, the officers observed the suspects in the Infiniti in the area of 77th Street and Hoover Avenue.

The suspects failed to comply with the officers’ request to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit moved through the streets of 77th Street Area and into Southeast Area, finally ending in the 11000 block of South Van Buren. The driver suspect pointed and fired several rounds at the officers and the officers returned fire.

The driver suspect, Rohan Lee Davis, 20, received a graze wound to his back. The passenger suspect was a 16 year-old juvenile who received multiple gunshot wounds to his neck and shoulder.

Davis was armed with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol and the juvenile was armed with a .357 revolver. Both guns were recovered at the scene. Both suspects are members of local street gangs. They were arrested and booked for Attempt Murder of Police Officers.

No officers were injured in the incident.

Force Investigation Division Detectives are investigating.
