"Robert Blake’s Attorney’s Computer Recovered"

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Detectives have arrested two suspects who have confessed to stealing a computer that belonged to an attorney representing actor Robert Blake.
On Wednesday December 1, 2004, a burglary of two separate apartment units occurred within a complex located in the 4000 block of Mammoth Avenue in Van Nuys. Los Angeles detectives responded to the crime scene and an intensive investigation was conducted. Detectives assigned to the Commercial Crimes Division, Burglary Special Section, directed the LAPD Scientific Investigation Division to process the crime scene for possible evidentiary latent prints and through the scientific process, a suspect was identified.
On Monday, December 13, 2004, detectives armed with a search warrant went to the residence of 18 year-old Los Angeles resident Koi Burton. Burton admitted to police that he and an accomplice had burglarized the apartment of attorney Mr. M. Gerald Schwartzbach and stole computer equipment belonging to the attorney representing Robert Blake, who is facing trial for the murder of his wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley.
Burton provided the detectives with further information and another search warrant was served on the Los Angeles residence of 19 year-old Michael Washington. Suspect Washington, confronted by detectives, also admitted to stealing the computers and confessed to an additional burglary.
Accompanied by court appointed Special Master Attorney James Blatt, detectives recovered the stolen property, a laptop and computer monitor, from a pawnshop located in the Van Nuys area.
It is unknown if there is any connection to the burglary suspects and the well publicized homicide trial currently in process.
