Rock Star Courtney Love Arrested

October 3, 2003

Los Angeles: On Thursday, October 2, 2003, at about 2:38 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Area patrol officers received two radio calls of a "Burglary suspect there now", in the 100 block of south Mansfield Avenue, Los Angeles.
When the officers arrived they saw a White female, later identified as Courtney Michelle Cobaine a.k.a. Courtney Love, standing in the middle of the street. Due to the nature of the radio calls, officers detained Miss Love. During the investigation Miss Love stated she had broken some windows at a nearby home. Officers then contacted the resident of the home, who stated he did not wish to have Miss Love arrested for breaking the windows. As the investigation was ongoing, the officers noticed that Miss Love’s behavior was consistent with being under the influence of a controlled substance. The officers transported Miss Love back to the police station where a drug evaluation was conducted. It was concluded from the evaluation that Miss Love appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
Miss Love was placed under arrest for Health and Safety Code 11550, Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor crime. Miss Love was later released on $2500.00 bail.
