Los Angeles: Officers assigned to Metropolitan Division "G" Platoon will be escorting Santa Claus with the help of a West Bureau Motor Officer Motorcade from Wilshire Area Community Police Station to the Kedren Pico School. Approximately 68 little 4 to 5 year-old unsuspecting kids will witness Santa’s arrival along with his police escort. Santa, with the help of his "G" Platoon, will distribute Christmas gifts to disadvantaged kids who might not otherwise get a Christmas toy. McDonald’s Restaurants will also be on hand and will provide lunch for the kids.
Santa will leave Wilshire Station at approximately noon on December 21, 2001, and will arrive at the Kedren Pico School shortly thereafter.
