Severe Hit and Run In Glassell Park NR19075sr

March 22, 2019

Glassell Park: The Los Angeles
Police Department Central Traffic Detectives are investigating a
felony hit and run that occurred on November 16, 2018, around 5:15
P.M., at San Fernando Road and Hallett Avenue.

A father and his young daughter were crossing the street, from
the southeast corner to the northeast corner, in a marked
crosswalk. As they were approximately 16-feet away from making it
across the street, a red four door vehicle, possibly a Toyota
Camry, approached them at a high rate of speed. The father
realized that the vehicle was not going to stop, and he pushed
his daughter out of the vehicles path, however the father was
struck by the vehicle launching him onto the sidewalk

The driver of the red vehicle failed to stop to render aid and
identify themselves, as required by law and fled the scene. The
father sustained a broken right femur, and because of his fast
actions his daughter only sustained scratches on her face.

The collision was captured on video by surveillance system from
an adjacent building.
