Severe Hit and Run in South Los Angeles NR21129ll

South Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division detectives are requesting the public’s help in identifying a hit and run suspect.

On May 10, 2021, around 6:55 p.m., a maroon Kia Optima with black rims was travelling eastbound on Florence Avenue, it collided with a bicyclist who was crossing westbound on Flower Street. The Kia made an unsafe right turn from the number two lane of Florence Avenue and collided with the bicyclist.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and identify themselves or render aid as required by law. The driver fled the scene southbound Flower Street at a high rate of speed.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
