Need the Public’s Assistance
On October 14, 2021, at approximately 10:38 a.m., a 55-year-old male was northbound Hooper approaching 48th Place, operating a scooter, when a Honda Civic negotiated an unsafe left turn eastbound 48th Place from Hooper and collided with the scooter. The pedestrian on the scooter collided with the rear bumper of the Honda Civic and onto the pavement. The driver of the Honda Civic stopped momentarily, then left the scene without rendering aid or providing information. The driver was described as a Female with red hair. The vehicle was described as a 2012 to 2015 grey Honda Civic with tinted windows, chrome tires and a rear spoiler. The vehicle may have traffic damage to the rear bumper or the bumper may be missing. The vehicle had no front plate.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital. The pedestrian was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit with severe injuries; he is in critical condition. His identity has not been released until his next of kin can be notified.
