Shaved Heads Raise Funds to Combat Childhood Cancer NA16043ma

March 10, 2016

Los Angeles Police Officers, Firefighters, their Families and Members of the Community Shave their Heads to Raise Funds to Combat Childhood Cancer WHAT: Annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving event to raise funds and awareness for lifesaving childhood cancer research.

WHEN: Saturday, March 12, 2016 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: Los Angeles Fire Station 89 7063 Laurel Canyon Boulevard North Hollywood, CA 91605

WHO: Actress Angeline-Rose Troy of Lifetime’s original films “Imaginary Friend” “Guidance” and “If You Only Knew”

Police Officers and Firefighters from the LAPD and LAFD

WHY: Every three minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer; one in five children will not survive. Those who do survive often suffer long-term effects from treatment too harsh for their developing bodies. Kids are special, even when it comes to cancer treatment and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation understands the need to treat them that way. Kids deserve the chance to be kids – fun-loving, carefree, refreshingly honest, and always a little goofy. Donations raised at events like this support the development of childhood cancer treatments that are as unique as every kid.
