Shooting at Engagement Party Leaves One Dead NR22255mc

Northridge: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect involved in the murder of 29-year-old Edgar Rodriguez, a resident of Anaheim.

On September 4, 2022, around 11:11 p.m., LAPD Devonshire officers responded to a radio call of a male shot in a parking lot near the 19500 block of Parthenia Street. The officers arrived and discovered Rodriguez down in the parking lot of a local banquet hall with several hundred party-goers.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced Rodriguez deceased at scene.

The initial investigation revealed that Rodriguez and suspect were attending an engagement party at the location. Rodriguez, the suspect, and several other party-goers engaged in an altercation. The suspect fired multiple rounds from a handgun, striking Rodriguez multiple times in the upper torso.

A crime scene was established. Operations-Valley Bureau Homicide responded and assumed the investigative responsibility.

Currently there is no suspect information.
