Shooting Leaves Young Victim Dead

Los Angeles: On Saturday, June 29, 2002, at approximately 2:00 a.m., 19-year old male Hispanic victim was driving northbound on Blades Street at Winter Street. Unknown suspects approached and fired several rounds into the victim’s vehicle. The victim continued northbound to Fairmont Street where he collided into a block wall on the north side of Fairmont Street. The victim’s vehicle came to rest on the sidewalk in front of the residence of 3011 Fairmont Street.

Unknown suspects approached and fired several rounds into the victim’s vehicle. The victim continued northbound to Fairmont Street where he collided into a block wall on the north side of Fairmont Street. The victim’s vehicle came to rest on the sidewalk in front of the residence of 3011 Fairmont Street.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The passenger, only described as a male Hispanic adult, received gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment. He is listed in stable condition.
The motive is unknown.
