Shooting Left a Juvenile Dead at a Local Park NR23208rc

Granada Hills: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the murder of a 16-year-old male.

On July 19, 2023, at around 11:10 p.m., Devonshire Area Officers responded to a radio call of “Ambulance Shots Fired”, in the 10600 block of Petit Avenue, in Granada Hills area. A male victim was located on the paved walkway inside the park, near the playground.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene. Further investigation revealed the victim had suffered gunshot wounds to his upper body. His name is being withheld pending next of kin notifications.

An additional victim, identified as 2-year-old child, was observed laying on the ground near the playground. The child suffered a gunshot wound to the torso.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the child to a local hospital in stable condition.

There is no suspect information and no arrests have been made.
