Fatal Shooting on a Busy Freeway in the Boyle Heights Area Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Hollenbeck Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect responsible for killing a man.

On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, around 5:55 a.m., a CHP officer observed a vehicle stopped along the left shoulder of the Soto Street on-ramp to the westbound 10 Freeway. The CHP officer stopped to investigate and discovered the motorist sitting in the driver’s seat unresponsive with the motor running.

Hollenbeck officers responded to a radio call and were met by the Los Angeles Fire Department who had pronounced the victim dead at scene. The victim was driving westbound on the 10 Freeway at the Soto Street Exit, in a Toyota Corolla when he was shot by unknown suspect/s driving an unknown vehicle, possibly driving on the same freeway. The victim sustained a gunshot wound and died from his injuries at scene. The victim is described as a male Hispanic in his 50’s.The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
