"Shooting on the Freeway Leaves Two Dead and One in Critical Condition"
 

Los Angeles: On Saturday, November 3, 2001, at approximately 11:55 p.m. a double homicide occurred on the westbound Santa Monica Freeway between LaBrea Avenue and Fairfax Boulevard. Three victims were shot by unknown suspects. The suspects drove next to the victim’s vehicle on the freeway and fired multiple times at the victims. The suspects then continued westbound and fled in their vehicle.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the driver of the vehicle, a twenty-one year old Hispanic named Alberto Ulloa, to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. A twenty-year old male Hispanic named Michael Menendez, a passenger in the vehicle died at the scene. A third, unidentified, approximately twenty-one year old male Hispanic, also a passenger, was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
The motive for this crime is unknown and the suspects remain outstanding.
