Los Angeles: On Friday, March 14, 2003, at approximately 2:40 p.m., a group of young men were standing in front of the apartment building at 10412 South Figueroa Street. An unknown suspect approached the group, and without warning, began firing a handgun towards the men.
Three people were struck by the gunfire. The suspect fled the location in an unknown direction. All three victims were transported to a local area hospital. Two of the victims failed to respond to emergency treatment and were pronounced dead at the hospital. The third victim is listed in stable condition as a result of his gunshot wound.
Names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification to the next of kin. Both men are Black males in their thirties.
Southeast Area Homicide Detectives are investigating this incident and are seeking assistance from the public. Anyone with information is asked to call them at 213-485-6902. A 24-hour toll free number is available at 1-877-529-3855.
