Shooting/Assault with a Deadly Weapon against an Officer NR20241

Reseda: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD), Homicide Special Section (HSS), responded to a shooting investigation in Reseda.

On September 26, 2020, at approximately 5:45 a.m., an off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer, while driving in his personal vehicle came under fire from an unknown suspect armed with a handgun. The suspect, at this time described only as a male Hispanic driving a black sports utility vehicle, fired at the officer while both vehicles were driving on Vanowen Street in the area of Lindley Avenue.

The shots struck the officer’s vehicle, but the officer was uninjured.

At this time, the motive for this shooting is unknown.
