Victim: Brown, Michael Anthony, a male Black, DOB: 4/26/65, 34 years old

On Friday night, July 9, 1999, at approximately 8:10 p.m., victim Brown was standing in the courtyard of an apartment complex, which is located at 6800 block of S. 10th Avenue, in Los Angeles. The suspect(s) approached Brown and confronted him. An argument ensued, which escalated into a shooting. Brown sustained a gunshot wound to the head, and was subsequently transported to a local hospital. On Saturday afternoon, July 10, 1999, Brown failed to respond to medical treatment and succumbed to his injuries at 12:15 p.m. at the hospital.

The motive is unknown. The suspect(s) and weapon remain outstanding.
