Los Angeles: On August 31, 2002, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Rampart Patrol Officers responded to the report of a stabbing in front of 1340 South Bonnie Brae Street. Upon officers’ arrival, they observed the victim down on the street, bleeding from a stab wound to his upper torso. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to USC Medical Center. The victim failed to respond to treatment and died as a result of the stabbing.
The investigation revealed the victim had exited a vehicle in front of the location and was confronted by four male Hispanics. An argument ensued which resulted in the victim being stabbed by an unknown type sharp object. The victim’s friend came to his assistance and was assaulted by the four suspects. The four then ran southbound from the location.
The suspects and weapon are not in custody and the motive is unknown at this time. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
